Cowgirls Kick Off Fall Play in North Carolina, Arkansas

STILLWATER—Oklahoma State's women's tennis squad will begin fall competition this weekend, with Cowgirls competing in two separate tournaments in Cary, N.C., and Little Rock, Ark.
Traveling to the Duke Fab Four Invitational in North Carolina are newcomers Vladica Babic and Kelsey Laurente, and sophomores Katarina Adamovic and Viktoriya Lushkova.
The Duke Invitational will feature players from some of the best programs in the nation, including Florida, San Jose State, UNC, Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami, Virginia, Furman and host team Duke.
The Cowgirls will start off the weekend with doubles play on Friday at 11 a.m. CT as Lushkova and Laurente take on Iris Verboven and Erin Stephens of Ole Miss, and Adamovic and Babic face Maya Jansen and Erin Routliffe of Alabama. Singles play will start at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Making the trip to the CCLR Collegiate Invitational in Arkansas is senior Karyn Guttormsen, juniors Maria Alvarez and Miranda Erisman and sophomore Carla Tur Mari.
The Pokes will face players from Memphis, Kansas, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Houston.
Guttormsen and Erisman will team up in doubles on Friday, facing Mai El Kamash and Arianne Hartono of Ole Miss in the first round, while Alvarez and Tur Mari will have a first-round bye. Singles play begins at the conclusion of doubles play.
