 Carla Tur Mari
2016-17 (Senior): Finishes her career with 95 career doubles wins and 86 career doubles wins, to become one of only four Cowgirls in the Big 12 era to rack up 80 wins in both singles and doubles … Her 95 doubles wins rank eighth in school history … Saw most of her dual action on the year in doubles, going 14-6 with Vladica Babic to bring the duo’s record to 23-8 overall … The pair, who was ranked as high as No. 6 during the season, dropped eight ranked opponents, while clinching six doubles points … Defeated two top-25 opponents during the dual season in No. 18 Austin/Keegan (Florida) and No. 22 Shankle/Profit (Baylor) … Went 14-5 overall on the year in singles, going 5-2 in 12 dual starts … Competed at the Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6 spots for the Pokes … Reached as high as No. 32 in the ITA singles rankings, a new career high … Won her first four dual matches of the season … … Earned First Team All-Big 12 recognition in doubles … Named to the first team of the Academic All-Big 12 team. Fall 2016: Went 8-2 in singles and 10-2 in doubles during the fall season, going 2-1 against ranked singles opponents and 4-0 against ranked doubles teams … Won the ITA Central Region doubles title, teaming up with Vladica Babic to knock off Nina Khmelnitckaia and Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum of Kansas in the finals … Also advanced to the finals in singles at the regional championships, winning six matches, including two over top-50 opponents, before being upended by No. 72 Lily Miyazaki of Oklahoma … With Babic, advanced to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships, knocking off three top-20 opponents and two top-10 foes … Went 2-1 in singles and 1-1 in singles at the ITA Grass Court Invitational … Ended the fall season as the program's active leader in singles wins (80) and doubles wins (81).
Junior: Posted a 22-8 overall record in singles and a 34-7 overall mark in doubles as a junior, helping the Cowgirls to their best finish in program history … Went 15-5 in dual matches, competing primarily in the No. 6 position … Was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team in both singles and doubles … Was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team in doubles as well … Teamed up with Viktoriya Lushkova in doubles to post a 27-4 dual record in the No. 2 spot … The pair went 6-1 in the postseason to help propel the Cowgirls to their best finish in school history … Finished the season ranked No. 62 in doubles … Was named First Team Academic All-Big 12 … Was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
