Neisen Advances To Match Play At Public Links

DUPONT, Wash. - Oklahoma State incoming freshman McKenzie Neisen advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship on Tuesday after tying for 17th place during the stroke play portion of the event at The Home Course.
Neisen, a product, of New Prague, Minn., followed an opening 73 with a 69 to finish at 2-under 142. During her second round, she opened with five consecutive pars before carding bogeys at the sixth and eighth. After posting a birdie at the ninth to turn at 1-over 37, Neisen caught fire on the back nine.
She followed a birdie at the 11th with three consecutive pars before carding birdies on three of her final four holes for a 4-under 32 on her inward nine.
Neisen will face Stani Schiavone in the round of 64 at 10:45 a.m. (PST) on Wednesday.
