ATHENS, Ga. -
Oklahoma State men's tennis standouts Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude saw their semifinal run at the NCAA Doubles Championships come to an end on Sunday, falling to No. 3 Kobelt/Metka of Ohio State, 7-6(2), 6-3, at the Dan Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga.
The 14th-ranked Cowboy duo took the Buckeyes to a first set tiebreaker and held serve deep into the second, but a late Ohio State break put the match at bay, sending the Buckeyes into tomorrow's championship match.
The postseason run caps one of the strongest seasons in the years for the Cowboys, who earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in five years before falling to USC, the eventual national champion, in the second round. Kadhe and Sude's three victories in the doubles bracket nearly doubled the Cowboys' all-time win mark in NCAA doubles play.
As a duo, Kadhe and Sude finish the year at 15-3 and stand as the most successful Cowboy doubles duo to appear in postseason competition. Both of the Cowboys will go into the 2014-15 season as Big No. 1 Champions, All-Americans and one of the most decorated doubles teams in the country.
