ATHENS, Ga. -
Oklahoma State men's tennis standouts Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude achieved their first career All-America honor after defeating eighth-ranked Pieters/Wagland of Georgia, 6-3, 7-6(3), moving the duo into the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships in Athens, Ga.
After taking the first set with a late break, Kadhe and Sude held serve with the Bulldog duo throughout the entirety of the second, forcing the teams into a tiebreaker. With the score tied at three, the Cowboys rallied for four consecutive points to clinch the match, marking their second tiebreaker victory in as many days.
The win marks the duo's ninth of the season over a ranked opponent, while pushing their overall record to 14-2. The duo also becomes the first pair of Cowboys to earn All-America honors in doubles since Pavel Kudrnac and Martin Dvoracek in 1998.
Sude and Kadhe will look to continue their run in tomorrow's quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of this afternoon's matchup between No. 60 Findel-Hawkins/Nemscek of North Florida and No. 15 Alcantara/Sarkissian of Pepperdine. Start times will be posted later tonight on Twitter at @CowboyTennis.
