Cowgirls Dip Into Sixth At SMU Invite

DALLAS, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 301 during its second round at the DAC/SMU Invitational on Saturday to slip three spots into sixth place at Dallas Athletic Club.
Through 36 holes, the Cowgirls stand at 30-over 606 and one shot behind Kansas at the par-72, 6,257-yard layout. Baylor came in as the event's leader, finishing with a 591 total and four shots clear of LSU.
North Carolina's Elizabeth Mallett posted a 69 to move into the top spot on the individual leaderboard at 3-under 141. She will begin tomorrow's final round with a five-shot cushion.
Isabella Deilert moved up 42 spots into a tie for 11th place after firing a 69 of her own. The Cowgirl freshman bounced back from an opening 80 with her 3-under score to vault up the standings. Deilert opened with consecutive birdies before making the turn at even-par 36. On her inward nine, she birdied the 10th, 12th, 13th and 16th to move to 4-under for the day before posting her lone bogey on the back nine to come in with a 3-under 33.
Sophomore Julie Yang posted a 77 to stand at 151 and tied for 16th place, while senior Jayde Panos carded a 78 to finish tied for 28th place at 154.
Senior Amy Ruengmateekhun posted a 79 to come in a stroke behind Panos at 155, which tied her for 37th place.
Senior Lauren Falley signed for a 77 to finish at 156 and tied for 44th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. and will be grouped with UTSA and Kansas.
