STILLWATER, Okla. -
Four members of the Oklahoma State men's tennis team were named to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis Team, the conference announced Tuesday. Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude were also awarded the Big 12 No. 1 Doubles title after compiling a 4-1 record against conference competition.
Kadhe and Sude were nearly perfect in dual match competition, as they took down three ranked opponents en route to a 10-1 overall record. The duo's conference position title is the first for the Cowboys since Oleksandr Nedovyesov earned No. 1 singles and doubles honors in 2010.
Sude, the Cowboys' primary standout at No. 1 singles, was the Cowboys' lone first-team representative on the Academic All-Big 12 Men's Tennis Team. Matt Campbell, Brandon Champagne and Chris Haworth were awarded second-team honors, marking Haworth's second-consecutive year on the second team.
To achieve first team status, players must have a 3.20 GPA or above and participate in at least 60 percent of the team's scheduled matches. Those who achieve between a 3.00 and 3.19 GPA are named to the second team.
