Cowgirls Finish Seventh In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a seventh-place finish at the Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Tuesday after posting a 292 during the third round of play at English Turn Golf and Country Club.
The Cowgirls finished with a 54-hole total of 869, 5-over, and a shot behind Clemson and Alabama at the par-72, 6,140-yard layout. UCLA finished at 843 and six shots ahead of Southern California.
Auburn's Marta Sanz closed with a 68 to finish at 208 and take medalist honors.
OSU's Jayde Panos' third-round 70 earned her a top five, tying her for third place at 210. The finish was the best of the year for the senior and was her second top-10 showing in six starts this season.
Freshman Isabella Deilert carded her second consecutive 72 to finish at 219 and tied for 32nd, while sophomore Julie Yang came in a stroke back at 220 and tied for 37th after finishing with her second 75 in a row.
Senior Amy Ruengmateekhun's 77 tied her for 53rd place at 223.
Senior Lauren Falley finished tied for 70th place at 227 after carding a closing 75.
OSU will be back in action on March 3 at the Bruin Wave Invitational in Tarzana, Calif.
