Lauren Falley Wins Kansas Amateur Title

WICHITA, Kan. - Oklahoma State's Lauren Falley closed with a 76 on Thursday to earn a five-shot victory at the Kansas Amateur Championship at Auburn Hills Golf Course.
The rising senior opened with a 71 to take a three-shot cushion after the first round and stretched the margin to five strokes after carding a 70 during round two. The Topeka, Kan., native used her third-round 76 to finish at 217.
The victory continues a successful run on the amateur circuit in Kansas for Falley. who finished sixth at the Kansas Women's Golf Association event last year. She was the event's runner-up in 2011 and was 10th in 2010.
Additionally, Falley captured the Kansas Class 4A state title in 2008 and finished in the top three on two other occasions.
