Cathrea Wins Inaugural Women's Porter Cup

LEWISTON, N.Y. - Oklahoma State incoming freshman Casie Cathrea posted a 4-under 138 at the inaugural Women's Porter Cup last week to win the event by three strokes at Niagara Falls Country Club.

With the tournament shortened to 36 holes due to rain, Cathrea opened play with a bogey-free 6-under 65 on Wednesday to lead by three after the first day of action.

After Thursday's second round was washed out, the Livermore, Calif., native posted a 2-over 73 during her final round on Friday to finish three shots clear of Iowa State's Prima Thammaraks.

Cathrea will continue her summer slate at the U.S. Women's Open, which will take place June 27-30 at Sebonack Golf Club in Southhampton, N.Y.
