Cowgirls To Compete In East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - For the 21st consecutive year, the Oklahoma State women's golf team will compete in an NCAA Regional. The Cowgirls will be one of 24 teams in the East Regional at Auburn University Club in Auburn, Ala., it was announced tonight by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee.
OSU will be the No. 6 seed in the event and will ride a two-tournament winning streak into NCAA play.
Three regional tournaments will be conducted May 9-11 to determine the championship field. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.
The championship finals will be held May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., and will be hosted by Georgia.
The 16th-ranked Cowgirls earned an automatic berth after claiming their eighth Big 12 title last week in Rhodes, Iowa. The selection marks the third time OSU has competed in the East Regional with the previous two appearances coming in 2004 and 2012.
OSU claimed its lone regional title in 2007 at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah.
