Cowgirls Move Into Fourth At Gator Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 292 during its second round at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational on Saturday to move into contention with 18 holes remaining at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The Cowgirls stand in fourth place at 25-over 585 and three shots behind Florida and Oklahoma for second place. OSU will begin tomorrow's final round just six shots off the pace of tournament leader Alabama's 579 score at the par-70, 6,002-yard layout.
Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil moved up two spots into sole possession of first place with a 68. She has a 137 total and will take a three-shot advantage into play Sunday.
OSU's Kelsey Vines used an even-par 70 to move up 33 spots into a tie for ninth place at 145. The Cowgirl senior opened with seven consecutive pars before making the turn with a birdie-bogey stretch. Vines birdied the 10th and moved back to level par for the day with a bogey at the 11th. After a bogey at the 16th, she bounced back with her third birdie of the day on the next hole to finish at even for the day.
Freshman Julie Yang carded her second consecutive 74 to stand in a tie for 21st place at 148.
Juniors Josephine Janson and Lauren Falley finished tied for 27th place at 149. Janson carded an 80, while Falley posted a 72 to get to their 9-over tallies.
Junior Jayde Panos signed for a 76 to get in with a 151 total. She is tied for 38th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Virginia and Miami.
