Cowgirls Host Houston and Nebraska this Weekend

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team will open its 2013 home schedule this weekend when it hosts a doubleheader against Houston on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and a doubleheader against Nebraska on Sunday starting at noon at the Cowgirl Softball Complex.

Oklahoma State is 2-4 all-time against Houston, with both victories coming in the 2011 Super Regional in Stillwater. The Cowgirls are 49-44 all-time against Nebraska, including a 17-8 mark in Stillwater.

The Cowgirls (7-7) are coming off participating in the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., last weekend. While there, OSU upset No. 17 Stanford 4-1. In that game, Kat Espinosa dominated in the circle for Oklahoma State. She threw a complete game, allowed just one run on four hits, issued no walks and struck out six. Erika Campbell went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.

Espinosa (2-3) currently sports a 1.04 earned run average in her 12 appearances this season. Tarah Ettinger, who has started all 14 games this season, leads the team in batting (.415) and hits (17) and is tied with Samantha Chrisman for the team lead in RBIs (seven).
