STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team has signed Maddie McCrary and McKenzie Neisen to National Letters of Intent it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Courtney Jones.
"We are thrilled to have Maddie and McKenzie joining the Oklahoma State golf family. They are both strong competitors with the work ethic and values that match our program," Jones said. "The sky is the limit for what both of these young ladies can achieve."
A native of Wylie, Texas, McCrary has logged several victories over the past two seasons throughout the state of Texas. In 2012, she won the Texas Girls Invitational and tied for second at the 2012 Texas State Junior Championship. "Maddie continues a nice tradition of adding Texas standouts to our roster. She has won a lot in the state and that got our attention. She knows what it means to work hard and has been a consistent performer who will make an immediate impact on our team," Jones said.
Neisen, a product of New Prague, Minn., won the 2013 Class 3A state tournament in her home state with a 6-under 140 total. On four occasions, Niesen has been named the Missota Conference Player of the Year and has been an all-state pick five times. Additionally, she has qualified for the U.S. Girls' Junior three times.
"McKenzie is a powerful athlete with a confident competitive spirit. She immediately stood out to me with her strong performances at both the U.S. Girls' Junior and U.S. Women's Amateur. When it was her turn to step up on a national stage she took advantage of it. I love seeing that in a player," Jones said.
