Biktyakov, Sude Advance To Semifinals Of F26 Futures

HOUSTON, Texas -
Former Cowboy Rifat Biktyakov and current Cowboy Tennis freshman Jakob Sude teamed up to record multiple doubles victories on Wednesday and advance to the semifinals at the International Tennis Federation's $15,000 Futures of Houston.
The duo opened up competition Wednesday morning with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the star-studded combination of Jeff Dadamo and Dennis Nevolo.
Dadamo, a former standout at Texas A&M, won the 2011 NCAA Doubles Championship with former partner Austin Krajicek and was ranked as high as No. 1 in the country in ITA's National Doubles Rankings. Before graduating from Illinois in 2012, Nevolo earned multiple All-America honors and reached as high as No. 2 in ITA's National Singles Rankings.
In the quarterfinal round, Biktyakov and Sude faced Rice's doubles duo of David Warren and Zachary Yablon and emerged with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
The Cowboy doubles pair will have another tough match on their hands in the semifinal round tomorrow, as they face former Oklahoma star Costin Paval and Evan King, the 2013 Big Ten Athlete of the Year.
In singles play, Jakob Sude nearly pulled off a second upset of the day after taking ATP standout Joshua Milton to three sets before eventually falling, 6-7(0), 6-4, 6-7(2). Milton is the tournament's sixth-overall seed and currently holds a singles ATP ranking of 503.
