Cowgirls In Fourth At McNamara Invite

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened its fall season on Monday at the Dale McNamara Invitational with a 36-hole total of 586, 10-over par, to stand alone in fourth place at Golf Club of Oklahoma.
The Cowgirls opened with a 289 during their morning round before posting a 297 during the afternoon session to come in two strokes behind East Carolina. Arizona State posted a 4-under 572 to hold a four-shot lead over Florida at the par-72, 6,282-yard layout.
Florida's Isabelle Lendl followed an opening 71 with a 67 to stand at 6-under 138 and two strokes clear of the field.
OSU's Jayde Panos was one of two players tied for second place at 140. The junior, who was also the runner-up at the event a year ago, posted a pair of 70s on the day for her 4-under tally.
Senior Kelsey Vines also wrapped up the first day of play in the top 10, standing alone in sixth place with rounds of 70 and 73 for her 143 total.
Senior Hillary Wood's 151 total included scores of 71 and 80 and knotted her for 34th place.
Junior Josephine Janson came in tied for 47th at 154 with scores of 79 and 75, while classmate Amy Ruengmateekhun carded scores of 78 and 79 for a 157 to tie for 60th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8 a.m. and will be grouped with Kennesaw State and SMU.
