Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team will travel to Kansas City, Mo., this week to compete in the 2012 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship. OSU will serve as the No. 7 seed in the tournament and faces No. 10-seed Texas Tech on Wednesday night at 8:30 pm in the Sprint Center. The game will be televised by the Big 12 Network (KOCB channel 34 in Oklahoma City, KTUL channel 8 in Tulsa).
The Cowboys are led by senior guard Keiton Page, a unanimous second-team All-Big 12 selection who is averaging 16.8 points per game this season. Sophomore guard Markel Brown is chipping in 10.5 points per contest and leads the squad in assists with 70.
Freshman Le'Bryan Nash has been named the Freshman of the Year in the Big 12 by two additional publications. Both the Associated Press and the Kansas City Star have voted the Cowboy rookie as the best frosh in the league.
Oklahoma State is 14-17 overall this season and finished 7-11 in Big 12 Conference play. Texas Tech is 8-22 overall, 1-17 in league action. The Cowboys swept the Red Raiders this season, winning 67-59 in Stillwater and 80-63 in Lubbock.
