Biktyakov Advances to Main Draw at Austin Hill Country Classic

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's Rifat Biktyakov advanced to the Austin Hill Country Classic's Main Draw after winning one of the eight qualification spots.
Biktyakov began his tournament run Sunday after earning a bye in the first round. In his second round matchup, Biktyakov defeated the United State's Sean Karl 6-1, 6-2, setting up a qualifier final with former OSU tennis standout Vlad Bondarenko.
Bondarenko, representing Ukraine, set the tone early by outdueling Biktyakov in the first set 6-2. However, Biktyakov fought back to win the next two sets, finishing Bondarenko by a final of 2-6, 6-3. 6-4.
Biktyakov begins play in the Main Draw Tuesday against Chase Buchanan, the tournament's seventh overall seed.
