Biktyakov Moves On to Quarterfinals at Austin Hill Country Classic

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's Rifat Biktyakov earned a spot in the Austin Hill Country Classic's Main Draw quarterfinal round after a victory Wednesday.
The junior defeated Switzerland's Vullnet Tashi 6-7(6), 6-3, 7-6(4), marking the second time Biktyakov has come back to win a match after losing the first set this year. He improved his overall singles record to 5-1, aided by an impressive 4-0 run at the Austin Hill Country Classic.
Biktyakov came into the match after recording his most impressive victory of the year. He defeated Great Britain's Chase Buchanan in the opening round, the seventh overall seed of the tournament.
Buchanan was ranked 471st in the world in the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour rankings.
Biktyakov will face another tough opponent in Great Britain's Joshua Milton, ranked 430th in the world. Milton is also the tournament's fourth overall seed.
The two will face off around 10:00 a.m. Thursday for a spot in the tournament semifinals.
