Cowboy Tennis Opens Fall Play

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Oklahoma State men's tennis team completed its first day of fall competition Friday at the RazorRacket Invitational as the Cowboys won three of four singles matches and split two doubles matches against opponents from Wichita State.
Freshman Christopher Haworth had the most dominant performance of the afternoon as he knocked off
Although sophomore Rifat Biktyakov dropped his first set to WSU counterpart David Cavalcanti, he stormed back to pick up the win in a supertiebreaker, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0(5).
Vlad Bondarenko was the only other Cowboy in action as he fell to Matheus Pereira, 7-5, 6-3.
Bondarenko did add a win in doubles play, however, as he and Biktyakov partnered for a tiebreaker win over Cavalcanti and Pereira, 9-8(4). The Shockers picked up their doubles win as Nicol and Juan Estenssoro defeated Horstmann and Haworth, 8-4.
