Cowgirls Finish 17th at Central Regional

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team tallied a 313 score during its third round on Saturday at the NCAA Central Regional to finish 17th at Warren Golf Course.
The Cowgirls entered the day in 18th place and endured a two-hour weather delay before carding their 25-over closing round to move up one spot at the par-72, 6,208-yard layout. OSU finished with a 54-hole total of 937 and two shots behind North Texas.
UCLA won the event by four shots over LSU with an 890 total. Minnesota, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford and Wake Forest rounded out the top eight, which all move on to the NCAA Championship at Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas later this month.
Duke's Lindy Duncan and Tulane's Maribel Lopez Porras grabbed the two spots awarded to individuals on non-qualifying teams.
UCLA's Stephanie Kono mounted a final-round charge with a 68 to move from a tie for 17th into a tie for first place with LSU's Megan McChrystal. The duo shared medalist honors at 2-over 218.
OSU freshman Jayde Panos was the squad's top finisher. The Perth, Australia native posted a 79 during her final round to finish in a tie for 34th place at 228.
Fellow freshman Jade Staggs carded an 81 during her third round to get in with a 233 total and tied for 63rd place, while junior Jocelyn Alford's 81 tied her for 101st place at 242.
Freshman Josephine Janson signed for the squad's low round of the day with a 76 to finish at 246 and tied for 115th. Also finishing among the group tied for 115th was sophomore Hillary Wood, who posted a 77 during her final round.
