Cowgirls Dip Into 17th At Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, P.R. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded a 317 during its second round at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Monday to drop into 17th place with one round remaining at Rio Mar Country Club.
The Cowgirls' 628, 52-over-par total put them one shot off the pace of Indiana and two behind North Carolina State at the par-72, 6,191-yard layout. Alabama fired a 298 maintain its lead with a 584 total. Iowa State stands in second place at 593.
Texas Tech's Gabriella Dominguez and Stephanie Meadow shared the individual lead at 1-under 143 after posting rounds of 72 and 70, respectively.
Freshman Josephine Janson stands in a tie for 41st place at 156 after carding a 79 to come in as OSU's top 36-hole performer.
Junior Jocelyn Alford also signed for a 79 and will begin her third round tied for 50th place at 157.
Freshman Jade Staggs' 81 tied her for 60th place at 158, while sophomore Hillary Wood carded a 78 to finish tied for 89th at 164.
Freshman Lauren Falley finished the day in a tie for 91st place after an 86 gave her a 165 total.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. (AST).
