Cowgirl Golf Adds In-State Standout

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team has signed Megan Blonien to a National Letter of Intent it was announced today. Blonien will join the Cowgirls for the 2012-13 campaign.
"We always start our recruiting in the state of Oklahoma. I would like to sign the best player in Oklahoma every year and I believe we have that in Megan," Cowgirl head coach Alan Bratton said. "She has not played much outside of the state, but her win at The Texas/ Oklahoma Junior offers a glimpse of her potential. Megan is a star in the classroom and a very good fit for our program. I am excited about her future at OSU."
A native of Altus, Okla., Blonien has captured three Class 5A Oklahoma State High School titles while competing for Altus High School. She recorded her first career hole-in-one en route to capturing her 2009 title as a freshman. This past summer, Blonien successfully defended her title at the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Junior Girls' Championship.
Blonien rolled to a 16-shot victory at the 2011 Texas/Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament and tied for 30th at the 2011 PGA Junior Championship. Additionally, she qualified for the match play portion of the 2011 U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
