Cowgirl Tennis Finishes Play In Norman

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma State women's tennis team wrapped up its second fall tournament of the year Sunday, as the Cowgirls added a pair of doubles wins and four singles wins to their tournament record.
In doubles play, Alisa Buslaieva and Malika Rose teamed to take down Texas Tech's Kelsey Garland and Samantha Adams, 8-6, in the A consolation bracket, while Sasha Belova and Sarah Meghoufel knocked off Oklahoma's Tara Eckel and Whitney Ritchie, 8-4.
On the singles courts, OSU pushed its tournament singles wins total to 20 with the four final-day victories.
OSU's winners included Meghoufel, who carried her doubles momentum onto the singles courts with a straight set win over North Texas' Paula Dinuta, C.C. Sardinha, who defeated Wichita State's Delia Damaschin in straight sets, Leyla Simmons, who defeated Depaul's Cali Gustafson in three sets, and Allison Burkhartt, who defeated Depaul's Samantha Kaneta in straight sets.
Kanyapat Narattana was playing well and won her first set against Wichita Stae's Raphael Zotter, but retired due to an injury.
The Cowgirls return to action Oct. 1 when they travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the Air Force Invitational.
