WACO, Texas – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team wrapped up play at its fist fall event of the year Sunday, as Aleksey Bessonov and Rifat Biktyakov fell in the championship match of the A doubles bracket at the 10th annual HEB Baylor Invitational.
The duo won two matches Friday and two matches Saturday to advance to today's final round, where they faced the No. 57-ranked tandem of Roberto Maytin and John Peers from the host-team Baylor Bears.
Both teams played well and won tight matches to reach the final, but the Baylor duo came out on top, 8-3, in the last doubles match of the tournament.
The Cowboys also competed in singles play Friday and Saturday at the event, but no OSU athlete made it past the round of 16.
Oklahoma State returns to action for the D'Novo All-American tournament, held Oct. 1-10 in Tulsa, Okla.
