Cowgirls To Play In Central Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team was one of six Big 12 teams chosen to compete in an NCAA Women's Golf Regional it was announced today.
Coming off a second-place showing this past weekend at the Big 12 Championship, the Cowgirls will be the No. 9 seed among the 24 teams that will compete at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. The regional will take place May 6-8 at the par-72, 6,416-yard layout.
The top eight teams and top two individuals not on those teams will advance to compete at the 2010 NCAA Women's Golf Championship from May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C., hosted by UNC Wilmington.
OSU's selection marks the fifth time it has competed in the Central Regional with the last appearance coming last year in Columbus, Ohio. The berth also makes it 18-straight regional appearances for the Cowgirls, who also played in the Central Regional in 2001, 2002 and 2006.
