Cowboy Tennis Wraps Up at Blue Gray Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 54 Oklahoma State men's tennis team wrapped up its competition at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic Saturday, falling to No. 26 Fresno State, 4-3, at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center.
The Cowboys, now 6-6 on the year, gave up the doubles point after losing at No. 1 and 2, but Anton Bobytskyi and Eric West were able to claim an 8-5 win at the No. 3 spot.
OSU mounted a comeback in singles competition, where No. 19 Oleksandr Nedovyesov quickly tied the dual at 1-1 with a straight-set win over Fresno State's Mirko Zapletal at the No. 1 spot, improving his singles record to 10-2 in 2010.
No. 75 Anton Bobytskyi lost to Fresno State's Rikus de Villiers, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles before Maxi Kuhn and Aleksey Bessonov earned two-set wins at No. 6 and 4 singles, respectively, to make the dual score 3-2, in favor of the Cowboys.
After two competitive matches at No. 5 and 3 singles, both won by Fresno State, the Bulldogs topped the Cowboys, 4-3.
The Cowboys resume play March 26, opening Big 12 play in Austin, Texas, against the fifth-ranked Texas Longhorns.
