Pernilla Lindberg Retains LPGA Card

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Cowgirl standout Pernilla Lindberg retained her status on the LPGA Tour on Sunday after earning a top-20 finish at the Tour's Final Qualifying Tournament at LPGA International.
Battling wind gusts reaching 30 mph, Lindberg posted an even-par 72 at the 6,389-yard Champions Course during her final round to finish at 361. Her 1-over total tied her for 12th place with Dori Carter. Lindberg posted rounds of 68, 77, 68 and 76 before her closing round.
Aree Song captured medalist honors with a 6-under total of 354, finishing two shots clear of the field.
Lindberg's finish gives her Category 11 Priority, meaning she is eligible for entry into full-field events based on tournament commitments.
As a Tour rookie this past year, Lindberg made 15 starts.
Former Cowgirl Caroline Hedwall, who turned pro earlier this fall, finished 38th after carding a closing 77 for a 367 total. Her finish gave her Category 20 Priority, meaning she has access to LPGA Monday qualifying tournaments and possible entry into full-field events.
