Cowboys Ready for Indoor Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's tennis athletes Aleksey Bessonov and Rifat Biktyakov continue their impressive fall doubles campaign this week, travelling to the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., to compete at the USTA/ITA Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
Columbia University will host the event, which is scheduled for Nov. 4-7 and features the top collegiate talent from across the country.
The doubles tournament is made up of 16 teams, including champions from USTA/ITA Regional Championships, USTA/ITA National Small College "Super Bowl" champions, the doubles champions from the D'Novo/ITA Men's and Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships and at-large and wild card selections made by the ITA National Tournament Committee.
OSU's tandem made the field after rolling through the main draw at the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships in Norman, Okla., where they finished with a 5-0 doubles record and were crowned regional champions.
The Cowboys are scheduled to open up play Thursday at 9 a.m. in the doubles round of 16.
