Biktyakov; Bessonov Reach Semifinal at ITA Regionals

NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team completed its second day of competition at the 2010 USTA/ITA Regional Championships Saturday, as Aleksey Bessonov and Rifat Biktyakov teamed to win their quarterfinal match and reach the semifinal round of the main draw doubles bracket.
The OSU duo won both of its matches Friday to reach today's quarterfinal, where the Cowboys dominated Minnesota's Wernet, Bonin tandem, 8-2, to reach Sunday's semifinal round.
Biktyakov also competed in the singles main draw round of 16 Saturday, where he was joined by Cowboys Ilija Martinoski and Eric West. All three battled through several close sets, but dropped their matches and were eliminated from the singles bracket.
Bessonov and Biktyakov continue their doubles run at the 2010 USTA/ITA Central Regional Championships Sunday, with play scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
