125 pounds: Senior Chris Notte got things going with an 11-3 major decision win over Justin Branham. Notte took Branham down early in the first period and dominated the entire match. Notte built up an overwhelming 5:13 of riding time in the bout to go with his four takedowns and one reversal.
133 pounds: Seeing his first varsity action since the Central Missouri Open on Nov. 22, Tyler Shinn lost a 6-5 decision to Liberty sophomore Joe Pantaleo. The key point of the bout came late in the second period when Shinn was working on a double-underhook, but Pantaleo caught him with a headlock and threw him to his back for a takedown and a three-point nearfall. Shinn had no answer for Pantaleo from then on and was unable to score a takedown to win in the third period.
141 pounds: Jamal Parks had no problems disposing of Collin Lewis, claiming an 11-3 major decision victory. Parks bagged four takedowns, a reversal and 5:10 of riding time in his dominating win.
149 pounds: Suiting up for the first dual of his collegiate career, Oklahoma State's Jake Peck lost a tough 5-4 decision to Frankie Gayeski. Peck gave up an early takedown in the first period, but Gayeski was penalized a point for locking his hands. When Peck escaped, it brought the score to 2-2. Not long after escaping, Peck then powered in for a double-leg takedown to claim a 4-2 lead. He rode Gayeski out for the rest of the first period. The favor was returned when Peck was ridden out for the duration of the second period. The final stanza began with a Gayeski escape to bring the score to 4-3. With approximately 30 seconds left, Peck went in for a double-leg takedown, but Gayeski caught him in a cradle and was credited with the winning takedown with 15 seconds on the clock.
157 pounds: After the Cowboys and Flames split the first four bouts with two wins apiece, Cowboy junior Neil Erisman set the tone for the rest of the dual by dominating Shaun Smith with an 11-2 major decision. Erisman bagged a takedown early in the first period, then got Smith on his back for what seemed like an eternity, but was unable to finalize the pin. He did, however lock up a three-point nearfall followed by a two-point nearfall to hold a 7-0 lead after the first three minutes. Erisman escaped quickly to start the second period to swell his lead to 8-0. The third period began with both wrestlers on their feet. Erisman added another takedown to go up, 10-0. Smith got on the board late in the match when Erisman was penalized for locking his hands. Smith then added an escape, but when the clock hit zeroes and Erisman's 2:12 of riding time was added, the Cowboy was an 11-2 winner.
165 pounds: Oklahoma State's Alex Meade wasted no time in pinning Chad Porter at the 1:10 mark. Immediately off the opening whistle, Meade shot in for the takedown and cut Porter loose before taking him down a second time and then recording the fall.
174 pounds: Cowboy sophomore Mike Benefiel was a 16-2 major decision winner over Brad Clark. The Cowboy sophomore bagged a quick takedown and turned it into a five-point move by rolling him to his back not long before the first period ended. Benefiel cut Clark loose to open the second period, then took him down again to go up, 7-1. He slapped a hard ride on before locking in a half-nelson and turning Clark to his back for another three-point nearfall in the waning moments of the second period. Owner of a 10-1 lead entering the third period, Benefiel added an escape, two takedowns and 4:35 of riding time to win, 16-2.
184 pounds: Head coach John Smith gave Chris McNeil his first start of the season at 184 pounds despite weighing him in as a 174-pounder and McNeil responded with a 3-0 victory over Nick Knowles. After a scoreless first period, McNeil escaped to start the second, then added a booming double-leg takedown to take a 3-0 lead into the third period. The two wrestlers started the third period in the neutral position and McNeil mounted the only serious attack, but was unable to get any points for his effort.
197 pounds: OSU sophomore Alan Gelogaev rolled up a 10-2 lead after the first period as part of his 19-3 technical fall domination of Jacobi Johnson that was ended at the 5:34 mark. Gelogaev scored two takedowns and added two three-point nearfalls in the opening three minutes, then added an escape, a takedown and another three-point nearfall to go up, 16-3 through two periods. The two started the third period in the neutral position and Gelogaev finished the match with a takedown. His riding time advantage brought the final score to 19-3.
285 pounds: Oklahoma State senior Jared Rosholt pinned Andrew Wilson at the 1:56 mark to put an exclamation point on the Cowboys' win. Rosholt took Wilson down quickly, then rolled him over for a two-point nearfall. He then got under Wilson's chin and got him in a hammerlock to set up the fall.
