Cowgirl Golf To Participate In NCAA Central Regional

INDIANAPOLIS--Fresh off its second consecutive Big 12 title, Oklahoma State's women's golf team will compete in the NCAA Central Regional it was announced today by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee.
The Central Regional is one of three regional tournaments that will be conducted May 7-9 to determine the championship field. The regional will be hosted by Ohio State University at the Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.
The fourth-ranked Cowgirls will be the No. 2 seed in the regional behind second-ranked UCLA. OSU will enter the event having won its last two outings after posting victories at the Ping/ASU Invitational and the Big 12 Championship. The Cowgirls have competed in the Central Regional on three previous occasions, finishing fourth in 2001, fifth in 2002 and fifth in 2006.
Regional tournaments are considered preliminary rounds of NCAA championships competition, and all national championships policies will apply. Each regional consists of 21 teams and three individuals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each regional.
The championship finals will be held May 19-22 at the Caves Valley Golf Club and will be hosted by Georgetown University.
Central Regional
The Central regional will be played May 7-9 at the Scarlet Golf Course, Columbus, Ohio, hosted by The Ohio State University. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in parenthesis next to the institution.
