March 05, 2009 | Cowboy Basketball
The Cowboy guard has led the team all season in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game this season. He ranks third among all-time OSU sophomores in points scored with 531, and he is also averaging 5.8 rebounds per contest. The Junction City, Ark., native is shooting 48.7 percent from the floor, including 43 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 83 percent from the free-throw line. He also leads the Pokes with 24 blocked shots.
Anderson was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 first-team this week for his efforts in the classroom. He is joined on the squad by second-team honoree Andy Shaw. A native of Edmond, Okla., Shaw spent the past two seasons as a member of the basketball team before an injury prematurely ended his career. He has served as the administrative assistant for this year's team and will graduate this summer with a degree in health education & promotion.
