Cowgirls Come Up Short Against Texas Tech, 74-70

STILLWATER, Okla. ÂOklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered a 74-70 loss on Saturday night at the hands of Texas Tech in front of 2,994 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls (15-10 overall, 4-8 Big 12) have now lost five consecutive home games and saw their three-game winning streak against the Lady Raiders (15-11, 4-7) come to an end as well.
OSU missed all 18 of its attempts from beyond the three-point line, marking the first time since Nov. 26, 2006 the Cowgirls have gone without a made 3-pointer.
Tech led for much of the first half before OSU moved in front for the first time at the 8:25 mark and built the lead to as many as five. The Lady Raiders closed the gap and sent the game into the break knotted at 34 apiece on a pair of free throws by Dominic Seals.
The two teams battled back and forth throughout the second half, exchanging the lead nine times. The Lady Raiders grabbed the lead for good with 3:30 remaining and built the advantage to six on three different occasions to close out the game.
Junior Andrea Riley paced the Cowgirls with 29 points behind an 11-of-14 from the free throw line. The Dallas, Texas native did overtake the No. 3 spot on the school's all-time scoring list and now has 1,790 career points. Riley moved passed Lisa McGill and is just eight points shy of tying Jennifer Crow for second place on the list.
Junior Tegan Cunningham recorded her second career double-double, scoring 20 points and pulling a career-high 12 rebounds.
Shaunte' Smith added her 17th career double-double with 15 points and a season-high 15 rebounds.
Seals paced Tech with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Jordan Murphree added a 20-point outing.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Wednesday night when they host Kansas at 7 p.m.
