Cowgirls Tied For 14th At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. -

Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 305 total on Friday during the first round at the Landfall Tradition to come in tied for 14th place at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

The Cowgirls' 17-over total knotted them with Georgia and was one shot off the pace of Wake Forest. OSU will enter tomorrow's second round just three shots out of the top 10. Southern California paced the field with an even-par 288 and leads by five shots over UCLA and Arizona State.

Arizona State's Carlota Ciganda and Alabama's Camilla Lennarth share the individual lead at 4-under 68.

A pair of Cowgirls are tied for 25th as sophomore Caroline Hedwall and freshman Jane Rah each signed for 74s.

Hedwall had an interesting day that featured four birdies, one eagle and two triple bogeys. Starting on the back nine, the All-American was 2-under par through four before making consecutive triples on Nos. 15 and 16. Hedwall rallied with a birdie at the 18th. She got back to even with a birdie and an eagle on her front nine before making bogeys on two of her final three holes to finish the day.

Rah had a quieter day, making eight pars and one bogey on each of her nines.

Freshman Victoria Park carded a 76 to finish tied for 44th, while freshman Courtney McKim's 81 tied her for 72nd place.

Freshman Hillary Wood ended play in 90th after posting a 92.

The Cowgirls will begin their second round tomorrow morning at 9:15 (EST) and will be grouped with Georgia and Wake Forest.
