Cowgirl Golfers Have Strong Showing In European Tour Event

VASTERAS, Sweden — Four players with ties to the Oklahoma State women's golf program wrapped up play on Sunday at the Scandinavian TPC hosted by Annika at Frosaker Golf and Country Club.
Past, present and future Cowgirls appeared in the top 20 as senior Pernilla Lindberg, freshman-to-be Caroline Hedwall and former standout Linda Wessberg all fared well on the leaderboard.
After firing a 5-under 67 during her second round, Lindberg carded a 72 during her final round to finish at 6-under 210 and tied for 10th place. The Bollnäs, Sweden native came in one shot behind the group tied for sixth place that included tournament host Annika Sorenstam.
Amy Yang won the event with a 14-under total of 202 that included a 63 on Sunday.
Hedwall entered her final round 3-over par, but blistered the par-72, 6,264-yard layout with a 64 to finish at 211, 5-under, and tied for 13th place.
Wessberg also made a big move with a 66 during her final round, giving her a 212 total and tying her for 19th place.
Another former standout, Maria Bodén, posted a 217 total to finish tied for 40th place, while former Cowgirl Emma Zackrisson missed the cut with a 36-hole total of 148.
