Jaclyn Sweeney Victorious In First Summer Start

MONTGOMERY, Ala. Â Oklahoma State sophomore-to-be Jaclyn Sweeney earned her first victory of the summer this week at the CPT/Lagoon Park Collegiate Open in Montgomery, Ala.
Competing at Lagoon Park Golf Course, Sweeney posted a 2-over 218 total during the 54-hole event, which was her first start since suffering a hand injury at the NCAA Championship in May.
The Andover, Mass, native found herself five strokes off the lead after the first round, but made her move during the second 18. Sweeney was the only player to break par during the second round, finishing with a 3-under 69 to give her the day's best score by four shots and a five-stroke lead.
Sweeney wrapped up the victory with a 73 during her final round at the 6,075-yard layout to finish three shots clear of Leigh Wilkins.
The victory made her one of six qualifiers for the CPT Championship in August in Euless, Texas.
