Cowgirl Golf Slips Into Seventh Place At Ping/ASU Invitational

The Cowgirls began play in fourth place, but dipped three spots with their 11-over tally during the second round. OSU currently has a 36-hole total of 591, 15-over, and will begin tomorrow's final round one stroke behind UCLA for sixth place.
Southern California took command of the tournament with a 288 on Saturday and is the only team under par at 7-under 569. Tournament host Arizona State holds down the No. 2 spot at 580.
Individually, USC's Dewi Claire Schreefel maintained the top position after posting a 69, giving her a 7-under 137 total and a three-shot advantage over Anna Nordqvist of ASU.
Freshman Jaclyn Sweeney stands as the top Cowgirl, finishing with a 1-over 73 for a 145 total. Sweeney will begin her final round tied for 13th place.
A pair of juniors, Karin Kinnerud and Pernilla Lindberg, stand in a tie for 20th place at 147 after rounds of 74 and 76, respectively.
Senior Tammy Clelland finished play tied for 47th place with a 152 total after carding her second consecutive 76, while junior Amanda Johnson posted an 81 for a 157 total, tying her for 70th place.
OSU will close out action at the par-72, 6,230-yard layout tomorrow morning at 7:38 a.m. and will be paired with Arizona and California.
