Cowgirl Golf Vaults Into First Place At Donnis Thompson Invitational

The Cowgirls made up five strokes on first-round leader Arizona and will begin tomorrow's final round tied with the Wildcats at 11-over 587. The two teams are seven shots clear of Arizona State, which holds down third place at 594.
All five Cowgirls remained near the top of the individual leaderboard as well and were led by juniors Pernilla Lindberg and Karin Kinnerud. The two players find themselves in a three-way tie for third place at 146 and six shots off the pace of individual leader Alison Walshe of Arizona.
Lindberg posted a 72 on the day, while Kinnerud came in with a 73 to get to her 2-over total.
Senior Tammy Clelland is tied for sixth place at 147 after posting a 75 during her second round, while junior Amanda Johnson is tied for ninth at 149 after turning in a 76.
Freshman Jaclyn Sweeney sits just outside the top 10 at 151 after a round of 78 put her in a tie for 12th place.
The Cowgirls will be in search of their second win of the spring season when they close out play tomorrow morning.
