Cowgirl Golf In Second Place At Donnis Thompson Invitational

Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened play at the Donnis Thompson Invitational on Monday with a 3-over 291 total at Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course to stand alone in second place.
The Cowgirls came in five shots off the pace of Arizona and 10 shots ahead of Arizona State at the par-72, 5,907-yard layout.
OSU had an impressive showing from its fivesome as the entire starting lineup finished the day in the top 10.
Senior Tammy Clelland led the way with an even-par 72 to finish in a three-way tie for third place and six strokes behind leader Alison Walshe of Arizona.
A trio of Cowgirls all turned in 73s to end play in a four-way tie for sixth place as freshman Jaclyn Sweeney, junior Karin Kinnerud and junior Amanda Johnson all came in at 1-over.
Junior Pernilla Lindberg finished at 2-over 74 and tied with five other players for 10th place.
OSU will begin its second round at 7:30 a.m. (HST) and will be paired with Arizona and Arizona State.
