November 13, 2008 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State's women's golf team has signed Jane Rah to a National Letter of Intent it was announced today.
“Jane is everything we look for in a player. She is a good student, has great skills, is a fierce competitor and has the personality to be a leader,” OSU associate head coach Alan Bratton said. “We could not be happier to have her join our team.”
A native of Torrance, Calif., Rah has compiled an extensive junior resume that includes victories at the 2007 Rolex Girls Junior Championship, the 2005 CIF Girls State Championship as well as the 2005 Family Toyota/Family Honda AJGA tourney. Overall, she has won five AJGA events during her prep career and has led Torrance High School to a pair of state titles.
Rah was also a member of the 2007 U.S. Junior Solheim Cup squad and competed for the victorious West squad at this year's Canon Cup. In 2005, she was the youngest participant in the Canon Cup.
This season, Rah has been ranked as high as No. 5 in the Polo Golf Rankings and earned honorable mention AJGA All-America honors after posting three top 10s, including a ninth-place showing at the PING Invitational earlier this fall in Stillwater.
Rah has already gained extensive experience on the LPGA circuit as well, competing in the 2008 Safeway International and the 2006 Safeway Classic. She also won the 2004 Safeway Classic Amateur Open as a 13-year-old to gain entry into that year's Safeway Classic.
