Diary From Down Under No. 3
October 09, 2008 | Cowgirl Golf
Over the next several days, OSU senior golfer Pernilla Lindberg will be sharing her account of the 2008 World Amateur Team Championship in Australia. Lindberg is one of two Cowgirls representing the Swedish team and one of five OSU players overall in the event. Below is her third entry.
Hello everybody!
It is the last day off practice over here in Australia. It was pretty cold again today (low 60s while we were on the course), but the wind was much calmer, which was a nice contrast to yesterday.
We decided to only play nine holes on the East course today. We have already had three really good days off practice and this is a long week, so we felt that it was a good decision to get some rest in the afternoon. We are pleased with the way we have prepared during our practice days, we have had good focus and it feels like we are all excited about starting tomorrow.
The official opening ceremony was held tonight, and it was pretty neat to see 48 different countries walk in with their flags and all dressed in their national uniforms.
We tee off at 8.36 tomorrow together with the Netherlands and the Philippines. I have no doubt that we will have good support on the course tomorrow; besides our coach and captain, we now have two men from the Swedish Golf Federation here.
But for me, personally, the best support will be my parents! They decided to come here all the way from Sweden and I am really excited about having them here.
Pernilla
