In other Cowgirl Golf news, head coach Laura Matthews returned to Ontario following her elimination from the Ladies' British Open Amateur. She will compete in the 2007 Copa de las Americas as a member of Team Canada. The tournament will be held June 18-23 at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.

She won last year's title with a 1-up victory in 20 holes over Sara Dodson, a former teammate at Jenks High School, at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville.
Johnson will begin defense of her title with an 8:03 a.m. tee time on Monday morning. She will be paired with Abby Allford of Oklahoma City.
