Cowgirl Golfers Take Lead at Big 12 Championships

OSU freshman Sarah Bradley continued to play well and is currently tied for second place individually. She and Nebraska's Ellie Brown are tied with a two-day total of 151, seven strokes behind individual leader Amanda Costner of Kansas.
“I found it hard to find the greens today,” said Bradley. “I tried to stay patient and knew there were some holes out there that I could make good scores on. It paid off.”
A consistent light rain throughout the day along with strong winds and temperatures in the 50s forced the scores up once again. Nebraska was the only other team to score below 311.
Cowgirl sophomore Pernilla Lindberg shot a two-over 74, the best round by an OSU golfer. She finished with four bogeys and two birdies, moving her up 25 spots from 30th to fifth.
“My game wasn't that much better than yesterday, but I was much more patient which allowed me to shoot a pretty good score,” said Lindberg. “With the weather the way it was, it was expected that the scores were going to be pretty high.”
Cowgirl sophomore Amanda Johnson had six bogeys and three birdies during her round, finishing with a three-over 75. She moved up 21 spots from 30th to ninth, giving Oklahoma State three golfers in the top 10. Sophomore Karin Kinnerud is tied for 15th place while senior Mallorie Underwood is tied for 38th place.
Oklahoma State looks to win its sixth Big 12 Championship as the tournament concludes on Wednesday with a final round of 18 holes. The last round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Underwood will tee off first for the Cowgirls at 9:20 a.m.
