Cowgirl Golf Climbs Leaderboard At Tar Heel Invitational

Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded a 5-over-par 293 score during its second round at the Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday to move into a tie for 12th place.
The Cowgirls began the day in 18th place, but were able to make their move with a pair of players posting red numbers. OSU heads into tomorrow's final round with a two-day total of 607, tying them with South Carolina. Tennessee stands at 586 and three shots clear of Duke for the overall lead.
The Blue Devils' Amanda Blumenherst gained the individual lead at 5-under 139 after posting a 68.
For the Cowgirls, junior Pernilla Lindberg fired a 2-under 70 to move up five spots into a tie for fourth place at 143. Starting on the back nine, Lindberg birdied her first hole and her final two holes to turn at 2-under 34. The Bollnäs, Sweden native bounced back from a bogey on her 10th hole with a birdie before closing with seven consecutive pars.
Senior Tammy Clelland moved up 38 spots into a tie for 40th place after posting a 1-under 71 to get to 152. Clelland strung together eight pars with a birdie on her front nine and made birdies on two of her final four holes of the day to finish with her low round of the season.
Sophomore Sarah Bradley moved into a tie for 46th place at 153 after carding a 75, while Karin Kinnerud turned in a 77, giving her a 159 total and tying her for 78th place.
Junior Amanda Johnson finished the day tied for 86th place after a 79 gave her a two-day total of 162.
The Cowgirls will get their final round underway tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. (EST) and will be paired with Virginia and Florida State.
