Cowgirls Golfers in ninth place at NCAA Fall Preview

Senior Candy Herrera had the top round by Cowgirl golfer during the initial round, carding a two-over 74. After struggling through the first four holes with a bogey and two double bogeys, Herrera got on track with five birdies and seven pars over the final 14 holes.
Sophomores Pernilla Lindberg and Karin Kinnerud are tied for 21st and 27th, respectively, after Lindberg finished with a 75 and Kinnerud with a 76.
Georgia sits atop the leaderboard after shooting a one-over 289. Auburn is in second place, nine strokes back at 298. Tennessee is in third place at 299, led by individual Nicole Smith who shot a five-under 67 and is in first place. Arizona State (300) and Vanderbilt (302) round out the top-five teams.
The tournament will continue on Saturday with another round of 18 holes and conclude on Sunday with a final round of 18 on the LPGA International Legends Course. The tournament serves as a preview of the 2007 NCAA Division I WomenÃs Golf Championships which will be played on the same course. Fans can follow the action live on the internet at www.golfstat.com.
