Cowgirl Golfers Competing at NCAA Championships

Cowgirl freshmen Karin Kinnerud and Pernilla Lindberg had the best rounds of the day for Oklahoma State, turning in identical five-over-par 77s. Junior Candie Herrera is one stroke back with a 78, while fellow junior Mallorie Underwood is two back with a 79. Freshman Amanda Johnson rounded out the Cowgirl scores with an 80.
Kinnerud had a solid back nine, shooting par over the final eight holes. Herrera was one-under through nine, but had a double bogey on hole No. 10 and a triple bogey on No. 16 to finish at six over. Johnson was just three over through 13 holes, but bogeyed each of the final five holes.
USC sits atop the leaderboard with a three-over-par 291. Pepperdine's Eileen Vargas is the individual leader with a four-under 68.
The tournament will continue Wednesday through Friday with 18 holes played each day.
