Cowgirls finish second at Big 12 Women's Golf Championships

Cowgirl junior Candie Herrera had the top finish for OSU with a fifth-place outing. Freshman Pernilla Lindberg finished seventh with a 227, while senior Jennifer Karr ended her final Big 12 Championship with a 229, good for ninth place. The top-10 individuals with ties earn All-Tournament accolades.
Oklahoma State had a three-stroke lead over A&M entering Wednesday's final round. However, the Aggies, led by individual champion Ashley Knoll, outscored the Cowgirls by 14 strokes during the final round. Knoll won by six strokes over runner-up Stephanie Wavro of Missouri.
Cowgirl freshman Karin Kinnerud had a solid tournament and finished 16th individually. Junior Mallorie Underwood recorded a three-round score of 233, good for 19th place. It marks the first time since the 1991 Big Eight Championship that all five OSU scorers finished in the top 20.
Texas A&M received an NCAA automatic bid for winning the conference championship. Oklahoma State must wait until Monday, May 1, to find out if the Cowgirls will make the NCAA Regional field. Regionals will be held May 11-13 at various sites. The NCAA Championships will be held May 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio.
