Ali competed in two tournaments during the fall semester, and finished 36th at The Landfall Tradition with a career-best 228. She carded a pair of 75s during the tournament, the best rounds of her career. Ali finished the fall semester with a 78.17 strokes per round average.
Freshman season (2003-04)
Ali competed in three tournaments during her freshman season. She finished 70th at the Lady Gator Invitational, competing as an individual. Her best round was a 79, shot twice during the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. Ali finished her first collegiate season with a 82.22 strokes per round average.
Amateur
Ali competed in the U.S. Women's Western Amateur, the U.S. Women's Amateur qualifier, and the Oklahoma Women's State Amateur Match Play this past summer. Prior to arriving in Stillwater, she finished fifth at the OSSO Junior at Oak Tree in Edmond. Her three-round score of 224 was one stroke better than fellow Cowgirl Mallorie Underwood. Ali won the AJGA Golfweek Chicago Junior Qualifier in 2002. She had three AJGA top-10 finishes, and was ranked as the 85th-best player in the world by the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
High School
Ali finished fourth at last year's Class 6A State Championships, and was named All-State for the fourth-consecutive season. She was a two-year letterwinner for Coach Hal Mills at Edmond North High School following a two-year stint at Guthrie High School her freshman and sophomore seasons. Ali also played basketball and softball for the Wolves, garnering two letters in basketball and was named the coference Newcomer of the Year in softball. Ali finished in the top-10 at state all four years of high school, and helped lead Edmond North to its sixth and seventh consecutive state championships.
Personal
Born Jan. 31, 1985, in Kingfisher, Okla., Ali is the daughter of Stan and Candy Griffin, both of which attended Oklahoma State. She has a younger brother, Asher. Both her parents attended OSU, and her mother, the former Candy Block, was on the golf team in 1977-78. Ali enjoys reading, singing and acting in her spare time, as well as going to church and Bible study. She is a member of the Honors College, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Pi Beta Phi sorority. Ali is majoring in English/secondary education at Oklahoma State.
