Cowgirl Golfers to Compete in The Derby Invitational

Top-ranked Duke, No. 4 Georgia and seventh-ranked Auburn are among the teams competing in the tournament. Other teams include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee from the Southeastern Conference, Kansas and Texas from the Big 12, as well as Florida State, North Carolina State, UNC-Wilmington, Virginia and West Florida.
Oklahoma State will be frontloaded with upperclassmen at this tournament. Seniors Jennifer Karr and Kyla Welsh, along with junior Mallorie Underwood, will lead a pair of freshmen into the tourney. Swedes Karin Kinnerud and Pernilla Lindberg round out the Cowgirl starting lineup.
This will be the first tournament for the Cowgirls under new head coach Laura Matthews. Matthews came to OSU after a successful three-year run as an assistant coach at Georgia.
The Derby, to be played at the Auburn University Club Golf Course, is a 6,270 yard course with a par of 72. The tournament will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start, and will include 18 holes each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-6.
